Following on the heels of the admired HP Mini 311, Asus has stimulated the Netbook bar forward by taking a 12-inch Netbook framework and counting both Nvidia's Ion graphics and a dual-core version of Intel's Atom processor (known-as the Atom 330). Formerly we have seen dual-core Atoms only in a handful of Nettop desktops, because of heat issues, and it's just not likely we would see one in anything minor than a 12-inch laptop body. While being small, the 1201N fits in a full-scale keyboard and a 250GB hard drive. The system arrives with Windows 7 Starter and 2GB of RAM. Asus also states the battery having 6-cell should last up to five hours, alike what we've seen in other Eee PC models. While briefing hands-on demo, we noted that the Asus Eee PC 1201N look is very identical to the current Eee PC line, comprising the popular 1005HA, which comes with a black glossy finish and textured touch pad.
