Eee PC 1201N

Following on the heels of the admired HP Mini 311, Asus has stimulated the Netbook bar forward by taking a 12-inch Netbook framework and counting both Nvidia's Ion graphics and a dual-core version of Intel's Atom processor (known-as the Atom 330). Formerly we have seen dual-core Atoms only in a handful of Nettop desktops, because of heat issues, and it's just not likely we would see one in anything minor than a 12-inch laptop body.

While being small, the 1201N fits in a full-scale keyboard and a 250GB hard drive. The system arrives with Windows 7 Starter and 2GB of RAM. Asus also states the battery having 6-cell should last up to five hours, alike what we've seen in other Eee PC models.

While briefing hands-on demo, we noted that the Asus Eee PC 1201N look is very identical to the current Eee PC line, comprising the popular 1005HA, which comes with a black glossy finish and textured touch pad.
Merged with a 1,366x768 HD display, a great video watching experience is what is made by the Nvidia Ion GPU, which allows the Ion to speed up streaming Flash video. The Eee PC 1201N will be available later this year.
