In the growing netbook market Acer have continued their great work of making the products affordable, as well as given a great choice to students and businessmen to travel light with a 3 pound, 6 cell battery netbook.
The new Acer Aspire One AOD150 is available in black, blue, red, and white colors. The Acer netbook comes with a Microsoft Windows XP Home operating system which is preinstalled and offers a more enhanced and innovative experience. There are features like Windows Live messenger for instant messaging, and Windows Live mail for checking E-mail accounts on the desktop.
Processor – The Intel atom processor is a 1.6 GHz Atom N270 processor and packs in 47 million transistors in a single chip of 0.87 inches, and consumes 2.5 watt of power, to give an excellent battery management.
Storage – This Acer version comes with a 160GB hard disk drive with 5400 RPM. The hard drive also quickens the pace with high data transfer speed.
Memory – the memory installed in RAM is 1GB capacity memory and can be expanded up to maximum of 1.5 GB of RAM.
Connectivity – the netbook consists of an integrated 54g wireless LAN and offers Acer’s SignalUp technology which provides enhanced antenna efficiency. It consists of SD memory card slot and a second multi-in-one card reader. This helps to download photos from multi-in-1 that allows sharing.
DVD/CD drive – the netbook comes with an optional DVD/CD read/write drives and this can be connected to the netbook via any one of the USB ports.
The chipset is Mobile Intel 945GSE, with Windows XP operating system with Service pack 3. The netbook is 10.2 inches wide and 8.4 inches deep. The height is 1.3 inches with 10.1 inches screen size. One of the few giveaways of the AOD150 is that it does not have a system recovery disks. The touch pad is also small and square, with a very small rocket bar below it. But still it’s a good netbook with a overall rating of 3.5/5. |
